The First Moment: Arriving at Johann & Anna
What's the first sound you hear when you step out of the car?
At Johann & Anna, it's usually the stream. The Stainzbach runs right below the house, and you can hear it babbling before your suitcase is even out of the trunk. To us, that's no coincidence — it's almost a small ritual: everyday life stays behind at the car door, and something else begins.
Arriving Is More Than Checking In
A check-in can be handled in five minutes — key, signature, done. Arriving with real attention takes longer, because it's not about the process, it's about how you feel afterward. That's why we hand over the apartments in person whenever we can, and explain no more than is actually needed. Some things are better discovered on your own.
Maybe it's the piano in the Johann apartment's living room, just waiting to be played. Maybe it's the retro tiles in Anna's bathroom, which tell a story all on their own. The first walk-through of one of our five apartments is rarely rushed — most guests end up pausing at some detail or other along the way.
What's Already Clear in the First Few Minutes
- The quiet isn't an exception. It's the normal state you'll find here — not something that has to be arranged.
- Nobody has to plan anything right away. There's no welcome program to work through.
- The garden and the stream are part of the apartment, not just the view. Plenty of guests end up sitting outside longer than they'd planned on that first evening.
Anyone who travels often knows the feeling of not quite being "there" yet on the first night in a new place. That's exactly the transition we want to shorten — not by adding more, but by offering fewer distractions.
